North Queensland's waters are among the richest game fishing grounds on the planet.

The Townsville Game Fishing Club exists for that reason.

For decades we've been the heartbeat of game fishing in North Queensland. We run competitive tournaments that test the best anglers in the region, champion tag-and-release practices to protect the fishery for generations to come, and bring new blood into the sport through programs like the TGFC Sharkies - our junior program built for the next generation of anglers who'll one day stand at the stern and feel that same rush for the first time.

We're affiliated with the Queensland Game Fishing Association and the Game Fishing Association of Australia, which means competing with us counts. But more than the points and the trophies, this is a community. Experienced anglers and first-timers. Tournament competitors and weekend warriors. All of them connected by the same stretch of water and the same obsession.
